Cathy Redman is delighted to announce the sale of Redman Vineyard and Winery to Bergstrom Wines. According to Redman, she approved the sale to the Bergstrom Family because she values their attention to details, respect for the land, purity of their wines, their business sense and history in Oregon.

“Bill and I purchased our 30 acres on Ribbon Ridge in 2004. We forged forward to ‘grow our own grapes and make our own wine’. We cleared out the old tired Filbert orchard, planted cover crop, and in a three-year span planted 22.5 acres: 17 acres of Pinot Noir, 2 acres of Chardonnay, an acre and a half of Pinot Blanc, and 1 acre of Arneis. Over the years it has been my joy to watch these vines take root and a thriving vineyard spring forth.”

In March of 2009 Bill passed away from cancer. In response, the incredible wine community rallied to Cathy’s side and supported her in rising to meet the challenge of keeping the vineyard and continuing the Redman dream.

“After 14 years it is my desire to start my new adventure. I will continue my volunteer contribution at the Chehalem Cultural Center. I have been involved at the Center since 2013 as Wine Chair for Night of the Moon (our hugely successful annual fundraiser). It has been my privilege to serve as an officer of the Board of Directors and now as President. The Center has become my passion; one I will continue for years to come!”

Cathy is a proud Oregonian, born and raised in NE Portland. She enjoys the arts, entertainment, and restaurants across the Willamette Valley. She plans to relocate halfway between Newberg and Portland so she can enjoy the best that both worlds have to offer. She remains personally invested in her support of the wine community, and gives back through her considerable volunteer work and by finding joy indulging in Oregon's wine treasurers. Cathy looks forward to travel plans and to making memories with her daughters and grandchildren.

”The Bergstrom Family have been so kind and accommodating. I look forward to a lifelong friendship and am excited to watch the land on Ribbon Ridge, which has become dear to me, grow and flourish under their stewardship.”
