Wine Advocate: rating 90. Dark ruby in color, it sports an alluring bouquet of earth notes, spice box, incense and black fruits. Made in an extracted style, it is a dense offering with plenty of spicy black cherry and black raspberry flavors, significant structure and enough acidity for balance. This powerful example of the 2008 vintage will benefit from 3-4 years of additional cellaring and offer a drinking window extending from 2013 to 2023. Reviewer, Jay Miller

Our grapes fermented for 17 days. We pressed the grapes into French Oak barrels: 20% new oak and 80% neutral. The Redman Estate blend is 40% 667, 30% Pommard and 30% 777clones. The Pinot Noir barrels were trucked to the Redman cellar on November 15, 2008. Upon completion of the fermentation; we racked on July 3, 2009, returning the juice to clean barrels. This process allows the wine to clarify itself, as it softens the tannins and allows the wine to develop its own beautiful characteristics and fruit flavors.
The wine aged in oak barrels for 15 months, we bottled the 2008 Redman Ribbon Ridge Pinot Noir on February 26, 2010.
