2007 REDMAN Tempranillo is crafted from grapes farmed at the Czarnecki Vineyard, The Dalles, Columbia Gorge AVA, Oregon. Grown on a southwestern slope at an elevation of 1100 feet, the Czarnecki Vineyard overlooks the Columbia River Gorge. The mighty Columbia’s thermal mass and the prevailing wind from the west protect the vines from winter’s excessive cold and moderate summer’s heat. This unique site planted on volcanic soil, rich in nutrients, produces a full flavor Tempranillo .
WINE PRESS Northwest Winter 2009/2010
OUTSTANDING! Here’s a fitting tribute to the late Bill Redman, who died of cancer in March, 2009. He targeted Czarnecki Vineyard in The Dalles, OR., for this offering of cherry, slate, dark chocolate, saddle leather and a whiff of smoked clams. Cherries and chocolate dominate the smooth palate, joined by soft plums. It’s a lightly structured Temp that will pair nicely with pork tenderloin joined by a cherry/Port reduction.
The Redman enthusiasm and passion continues and reveals itself in the approachably priced, smooth, lightly structured Tempranillo. $26. per bottle/$281 per case (includes 10% case discount).
Cathy hopes you enjoy this wine as much as she enjoyed producing it.
